| The participation of Latinos in the Kentucky horse industry is impressive and extends into all the areas that compose it. Having become fundamental pieces for the operation of this industry, Latinos have also become involved as spectators, betters, horse owners, tourists, consumers and lovers of equine culture.
Each day it is more evident that the growth of a strong Latino presence in the horse industry, including jockeys, trainers, veterinarians and horse surgeons, administrators, spectators and more, has been fed and benefited by the growing Latin American immigrant community in Kentucky.
The success and perseverance of the great equine tradition in Kentucky is a combined effort that has historically been influenced by the participation of immigrants in the fields and the racetracks of the state. Today more than ever this powerful influence is visible and indispensable.
